Dr. Jood Hashem is an Assistant Professor in the department of Medical Laboratory Science at Jordan University of Science and Technology. She obtained her BSc degree from Jacobs University Bremen in Germany with a specialization in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology and her Ph.D. from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the USA. Her research focused mainly on tumor biology and the mechanisms that facilitate metastasis and chemo-resistance. Before joining the university as an assistant professor, she also had the chance to work on stem cells in Jordan. She is currently an author in several publications in the field of cell and cancer biology. Dr. Jood Hashem teaches several undergraduate and graduate courses at JUST including Endocrinology, Toxicology, Research Methods, Advanced Biochemistry, and Advanced Clinical Chemistry among others. Her current research focuses on identifying biomarkers and prognostic factors in cancer cell lines and sample patients diagnosed with hematological malignancies.
