Dr. Said Ismail is currently the Manager of the Qatar Genome Program (QGP), which is one of the major national projects of its kind both regionally and globally.
As a professor of Molecular Biology at the University of Jordan Medical School, Dr. Ismail won the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers in BioMedical Sciences in 2013 as well as the Ali Mango Award in Medicine at Jordan University in 2012.
Dr. Ismail, a Ph.D. graduate from the University of Oxford, and has 20 years of research experience in molecular biology and genetics with focus on cancer genetics and screening of disease-related mutations in Arab population. In addition, Dr. Ismail is the first president and co-founder of the International Society on Aptamers, which brings together researchers and biotechnology companies from around the for the advancement of this exciting emerging field.
